Microsoft  SQL Server Version

Project XS has been built and tested using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005.  You may also use MSDE (the free version of Microsoft desktop version).

If you have and specific questions about SQL Server 2000, 2005 MSDE and Project XS we suggest visiting the online forum and posing your questions there.

Number of Installs

You are able to install Project XS on as many computers as you wish. Project XS has a concurrent licensing model so if you have a 5 user License, you can only have 5 users connecting to the database at one time.

Viewing Projects

There can be a number of reasons for not being able to see all projects, the projects may be set as being viewable only to the Owner of the project or you are not a member (Project Manger, Owner or Resource) of that project. If you need to see a particular project, ask the Owner or Project Manager to add you to the resources of the project.

Web Version

We anticipate a web version will be developed as and when demand increases. If you have any thoughts about how to improve Project XS please feel free to add it to the forum as we monitor the forum on a daily basis.

Company Administration Tasks

Not all time entry will need to be against a working project. To accommodate administration tasks such as company travel, research, company meetings and so forth we suggest building a Company Admin project and your staff can add time against these tasks and therefore track time other than chargeable Project time.

Common Documents

The common documents area of the organiser is open to everyone, we suggest adding folders and documents that all project members need to get to. These could be documents on policy (Leave, smoking, fire etc). Common documents are a great way to socialise information to the whole team.
